“Water for the Big City” exhibition in the center of St.Petersburg


“Water for the Big City” exhibition was solemnly inaugurated at the Cronwell Inn Stremennaya Hotel on October 31st. The exhibition is dedicated to celebration of SUE “Vodokanal of St.Petersburg” 160th anniversary and the “Universe of Water” Multimedia Complex 15th anniversary. The exhibition was arranged in cooperation with the Agency of Museum Communications and the Hotel.

The event was opened by SUE “Vodokanal of St.Petersburg” Information and Training Centre representatives.

Y.M. Pashedko and A.A. Korsavin, Manager and Leading Specialist of the Career Guidance and Awareness-Raising Unit, described the Company activities and the historical stages of St.Petersburg water supply and sanitation systems development.

Visitors also learned about the history and activities of the Multimedia Complex.

Museum guides of the “Universe of Water” presented unique archival materials, photos and documents about the history of water supply and sanitation in St.Petersburg, as well as described the use of water in everyday life, the state of water resources and other interesting historical facts.

The exhibition sparked interest among the mass media, specialists of eco-centres, tourist community, museums and libraries, universities and colleges of the city.

Hotel guests were keenly interested in the exhibition and hotly discussed its relevance during the first days of the exhibition.

The exhibits, which are historical hatches, household items related to water, will be presented on the second floor of the hotel until April 30th of next year. Exhibition is open from 10.00 to 21.00, including weekends.
